Using the MPC2000XL in live situations

Good day,

I am currently assembling a live band. our line-up consists of a Fender Rhodes-player, a DJ, a guitarist, someone with Ableton Live running, a bass player, a sax player, and me on MPC. (so no drummer)

We are currently exploring the possibilties of the MPC in live situations. We already do live drumming on it, live other sample triggering, playing melodies and basslines on it. These are pretty obvious things to do.

I was wondering what the other possibilities are for using the MPC. I was thinking of live sampling (for example, sampling the microphone signal from the sax player, and retriggering that), but the way i use the mpc, that takes a lot of time to do, so you miss "the moment" while naming the sample
Thats just one idea.

So the general question is - what fun and interesting things are possible on the MPC2000XL in live situations?

I hope somebody help U out.I was at Common's concerts in the house of blues in Chicago and i was suprised they had an MPC setup on there,I wa sliek what they need that for when there was a DJ,Drummer and Keyboardist.I mean i was also suprised ?questlove uses an MPC2KXL with all the drums he knows how toplay.
