conversion of 8 bit to 16 bit

I have a sample that i took from the internet and i tried to load it in the 2000xl and it says not a 16 bit wav file. i looked and it is actually an 8 bit wav file. So my question is is there a way to convert from 8 bit to 16 bit.

you'll just need a wave editor like wavelab or something....
