What up Fellas! Alright, I have an MPC2000xl. For some time I used samples loaded off of a Zip or floppy, and the JV 1010 and Planet Phat mods for sounds. However, I recently upgraded my studio and now have everything(MPC, Jv 1010, Planet Phat) running through a midixl time pice, and a Motu audio 2408, directly into a G4 Mac computer, and the Digital Performer as recording software. I like this set up because I am able to scroll through every available sound bank of each sound module straghit from my computre screen. But the problem is that when I trigger midi it doesn't work as if I was using the sound mod straghit though the MPC. Example, when I change track 1 from drum to midi and record, it works fine, but when I do the same for track 2 it plays the phrase from track 1 with the sound from track 2. Please help me out with this fellas! some peole have said that my only bet is to sample the sounds in when I want to work from the mpc? But that seems a bit time consuming.

i have a similar set up minus the sound modules. i have a s5000 instead. so are you printing the midi tracks in DP? have you changed midi channels in the DP sequencer? your switching the patches in DP as well, too? and the mpc is your controller, no keyboard or anything right? what are your settings for everything i will be able to help a little more.
True! Thanks alot Mesh!!!! From within my DP Sequencer everything is fine. I change patches and can choose from any of my mods and sounds don't change when I start new Midi traks. My problem is when I don't want to use the MPC as a sequencer as well. You see how when you sequence from the MPC or any Drum machine the sequence feels tight and in time. I like to do most of the begining part of my work through the MPC then dump it into DP and then add melodies, or other effects by using the MPC and a Fattar Studio Logic Key Board that I have as controllers. But with this set up I cant sequence midi any more becuse it can't recognize more than one patch. I'm stuck sequencing only sampled sounds. I'm not sure if I answerd your question about the settings please let me know

ok i think i know what your saying. i have similar issues. i think when the timepiece is in the mix you gotta change some settings so the mpc can become the main sequencer again. it all works fine when you have the mpc hooked directly to the mods right? thats what i am dealing with too. i think the timepiece is the cause of our worries cuz when dp is going it wants to be the main midi sequencer. maybe we should hit up the MOTU sight cuz i would like to figure it out more myself. i dont think the settings are in the mpc, but somewhere in the timepiece, and i hate going inside the timepiece and changing knobs cuz it always ends up bad. let me know if you figure anything out. i just been trying to use dp more when i am getting started to avoid the problem. but it should be able to be solved.
