Playing a sample throughout whole song

How do i go about playing a sample throughout a whole beat on the mpc 2000xl,for example when u here heatmakers beats etc, eg, who am i, it plays continious for the whole beat, sorry if im not making sence

well, it depends on the sample's lenght. if it is a 1bar sample, and u have a 4 bar sequence, the sample plays at the beggining of each bar. u get a 4 bar sequence with the sample playing all the time. is that your question? if u repeat that 4 bar sequence X times u have a song.

I dont understand this question...just make a sequence with your sample, put some drums over it and keep looping it. If you want to change up the drums, copy the sequence and delete the drums from the previous seq and throw new ones on. I would always start with the sample, get that to fit and loop straight and just edit the bars to however many you want then add your drums and bass and whatever else you want. Hope this helps.
