Hi all I need your help desperately! I had an old 8out board that i plugged in using a ribbon cable. i loaded up the mpc and went to record a sample to assign to a pad then a seperat output, No signal! the record inputs didn't respond so I removed the 8out board and reloaded the mpc, wen i opened the back to remove the 8out board I did notice an electronic smell but is was very very faint, it may have been arround the ram.
So from there I went to sample and nothing now just a line that looks like it had a signal but i wasnt feeding it any sound! then i went to load in a sample from my zip drive, that loaded fine but wen i went to hit a pad to assign it the pads wouldnt respond! So i went to the trim page and i could trim a sample, went to the program page and i can assign and effect samples but the pads wont trigger a sample! i then went back to the trim page and went to play back the sample but it wont play! No playback to outputs (stereo outputs not the 8out board, i removed it) I cant record or trigger pads! HELP! I'm freaking out! I'm still running os 1.11 could i fix it with an os update? Please Help I'm ment to be having a gig this weekend! Thanks.

Sounds like audio inputs/output failure and pad sensor failure. I cant really go into details with out actually having the machine in front of me and running some tests on it. You could try updating the OS and see where that puts you.

Take it to a repair shop. Plain and simple, unless you are/know a skilled electronics repair guy/woman who knows the mpc.
