hey yall
i got a question that i can never get anyone to help me with.
it has to do with my mpc and its loop function. allright check it. say i got a loop. maybe a nice little horn hit thats maybe a bar long or some shit.
well when i loop it up and hold down the pad it will play until i let up on the pad ya dig. when i play back the sequence everything is ok and fits fine.
well the problem is when i play back to back sequences.
lets say i have the loop hittin in places on sequence 3 and on sequence 2 i have no loops going just drums.
well everything is fine going from 3 to 2 but when i go back to 3 from 2 the loops freak out and continue playing like they are poyphonic and just repeat into each other and get all garbled up like they where pressed a bunch of times.
when i press stop on the song the looped sampled continues playing and just repeats itself over and over all **** up.
does anyone have a clue how to fix this so i can have a little loop playing without it freakin out?
peace yall.

I would go into the PARAMS screen and choose MONO so that the same pad retriggers when hit again. POLY would be the overlapping. NOTE OFF would be only while you are holding down the pad. Also in step edit you might wanna check the duration of the loop. In the TRIM you can cut/hilight the part of the sample you actually want to be played when you hit the pad.

From what you write, it sounds like you are refering to the 'loop' editing in the Trim section. Don't mess with it dog. It's good for triggering loops from an external sequencer, but theres no need to do that. Just HIGHLIGHT IN 'TRIM' the way length you want your sound, but don't cut it. Assign it to a pad. Make sure the length will match your BPM, or tap the note repeat button while you let the sample play once, to lock a BPM to that sample. Then in parameters, choose mono, if you don't want any overlap. Make sure loop is ON in the main screen, but NOT in the trim screen. Make sure you fine-tune your your bar count , set to the right length or BARS. Then, when you are satisfied with the way the sound loops, THEN go back to trim and discard by cutting. This lets you try the length out without comitting. You can also make copies in zone without affecting the original sample. Alternatively, you CAN try the loop length in trim, see if it loops proper, then turn that loop off, copy the numbers to trim (manually) and cut it. But keep in mind, you will then be dealing with the sequencer loop length after that. THE ONLY reasons I can think of why you are having this problem are: 1) that the MPC pads tend to double-tap when you accidentally let your finger bounce off the rubber. Don't be insulted, dog, it happens all the time. This is another good argument for setting the timing to a sturdy 1/8 note timing, no shuffle, no swing, if you are only hitting it at note 1 to loop all the way around again, dig?2) like I said before, you are using LOOP mode in trim, which is not very useful for obvious reasons. 3) like ya boy said, use MONO to avoid an overlap or
4) Your MPC is broken
It probably ain't tho'...try these other methods.
