alright sorry but i don't get cd-r burning...

i've been looking through the forums and searching but i still do not understand how to burn cd-rs so the scsi external cd-rom i have hooked up to my 2000 classic will read them. I have disk2file, and i have the mpc editor. On deepsound (http://mp3.deepsound.net/akai_cd.php) it says i need an akai formatted hd in order to burn the cd? i bought the cd/hd combo from SCSI for Samplers so I have one, but do i hook it up to the computer so that disk2file will work? is there just an easy way to drag wavs onto a cd and burn it so I can load it up? I'm confused, and the intstructions make my head hurt they might as well be greek. It almost seems like the instructions are meant for backing up the harddrive info onto akai format cds... i just want to load the samples off my computer with the cd as opposed to losing sound quality by going through my crappy soundcard. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Note:Make sure characters are not more than 8 characters long also make sure sounds are not in folders

gracias, haven't seen those, beening typing in variants of cd-r's, wav... but those links haven't come up. well i guess i need to go get a copy of nero, cause i don't really want to install an akai formatted hd or some such thing. thanks

Yes, therefore you need to install a scsi interface on your computer

That is exactly what these instructions are about. And no you can not just drag samples from your computer to a cd and burn em and hope your 2k classic will be able to read 'em , this is one of the major improvements the 2kxl has over the 2k classic imo.

If you just want to be able to load sounds from your computer on to your mpc 2000 classic then the best way is to go via a zipdrive.

alright... that is very helpful thanks so much, i think i know whats going on now. so now of course, here is a followup question. Is it possible to have a zip disk hooked up to my computer with the printer parrell(sp) port, drag wavs, snds, pgms etc onto the disk.... then take that zip disk out, and put it into an SCSI zip disk thats plugged into my mpc and transfer files that way? Because i have a printer style zip disk and a printer port that I could use, so all i would have to do is purchase a SCSI zip disk and skip buying a scsi interface for my computer. yor help is appreciated greatly, I love how this forum doesn't hate on the newbies like others i have been on. Finally a forum thats cool! anyway, thanks in advance
