chopping on the 2xl special edition

Just got this bad boy & upgraded from the mpc 2000, my ? is that when i set the zones to a # then goto slice to assign the sounds to the pads, it assigns them to the pads but the previous pads dont have the previous sounds assigned to them. I guess its cuz i chose to make a new program in the slice section so it erased what i had, when i choose not to make a new progam it chops it into zones but dosent assign them to the pads unless i do it manually. Any body know what i can do?

After you chop, go to the program screen and assign then to the pads the way you like them and make a new program with those sounds.
