Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

To my knowledge the mpc doesnt support SCSI sample dump but there maybe a workaround. Which mpc are u using ne ways?

I see you have the 2k.Well,no matter the model i don't think it's possible via scsi from sampler to sampler.Try connecting via midi,if possible.

Well MIDI wont due much of transfering the samples but u can sync the two using MIDI.

Well you clearly haven't heard of this thing called MIDI sample dump. check the 2kxl manual on page 183. So YES you can use MIDI to transfer sample data between 2 machines if they support midi sample dump protocol.

Yep, you heard it VERY correct. I wanted to know and use it so I'd know it's there. I now (for a LONG time now, use CF for all my transfers to/from 2kxl).

MIDI SAMPLE DUMP was something just for gear knowledge for me.

so how long does it take? ie 2sec sample - 15secs? 30secs? minute, hour?...im not sure what "ages" could mean :)

depends on the size of the sample really, but I would rather go for minutes than seconds to define transfer time. 8)
