saving and screen issues for the 2k classic

my screen goes blank(with the backlight still on) about every half an hour or so, do i need a new screen or do i need a whole new mpc

also i save my sequences to a floppy disk but wen i load it back into the mpc nothing plays..all the settings come up like how many bars it was and teh tempo but the song will not play em i doin something wrong

It sound slike you need a new screen.As far as saving try all and aps.

hey the all apps worked good but now how do i load it onto my computer? when it loads up it says windows cant open this file

It sounds like you are making a sequence on the MPC and trying to play it back on your computer. Is that right? If so, you cannot do that. The MPC saves the data of the sequence (i.e the timing, sounds, patterns). So you cant simply load the sequence data onto a computer and get it to play. I dont know what programs youre using on your computer so I cant really help you out further.

so wait your telling me theres no way to get my beats i made from the mpc onto my computer???

im saving my beats onto the floppy disk and tryin 2 load them onto my computer but my computer wont read them becuase they come out in a aps and pgm file

You need a program like protools or cubase or any other type of sound recording program to do what you wanna do, but it cant be done by transferring files off the mpc.

You have to play back those sequences and songs into your computer as a sound file (.wav or other file types) then you will have a file on your computer that was created on the mpc. I hope I made sence.

You have to use an audio or MIDI interface. What program are you using on your computer? I use Logic 7 so I have a MIDI interface connected via USB to my Mac. Your going to have to do something like that. As of right now from what you are telling me, you dont have a way to get your beats onto your computer....

i have a presonus firebox i used to record my vocals n shit i can use that ryte cuz it has a midi extension..so i connect my mpc to the firebox, record my beats onto the daw? also my bad for the stupid questions i just got the mpc and i realy dont know much about it but thanks for the help

To play back loaded sequences on the MPC you need to save the sequence(when and where the pads play) as well as the program(which sounds go on which pads) and the actual sound files(what do you expect it to play?). I usually save two things; all my programs in a .APS, and my individual sequences i.e. Sequence_01, Sequence_02 etc. as .SEQ files. When saving all programs(.APS) using the save function in the disk window it will ask you if you want to save with or without sounds, and whether or not you want to replace the sounds on the disk with new ones(if they are named the same). To get your tracks created with the MPC onto your computer you need to go from the audio out from the MPC into the audio in in your soundcard. The MPC is an instrument, if you were going to sample with it then sequence with it then just transfer that over to the computer what would be the point of owning one? You can do both those things(usually faster) with just a computer. The MPC is an instrument, treat it as one and have fun.
