Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
ByAviary Disaster Wed Oct 22, 2003 10:00 pm
I do, its about 2.5 gigs I think.

It works wonderful the onyl issue Im having is trying to hook up the same external hard drive up to a 50 pin SCSI PCI card in my computer...

Does anyone know if this will work? Can I move .wav files from my comp to the SCSI hard drive to my MPC and be able to read the files and load them?

Or... will the MPC demand I format it again before it will read my new .wav files?

Does anyone here have experience with this besides me?

Thanks in advance.

Peace
AVA.

i think the HD needs to be formatted first by the pc for it to work on both...

Which model LaCIE drive are you using? What's it's capacity?

g3? ill have to check.....got it from ebay for like £30......

i think its a couple of gig but the mpc will only read a certain amount of it....still it fits practically every sample i need (at the mo) and around ten tracks ive done (i save the rest on to my pc for back up)

bloody noisy, but luckily you can turn it off and on and the mpc will still recognise it.....i would seriously have to think about the alternative if i couldn't turn it on or off cos the fan noise is unbelivable....but yeah spot on...

Did you have to format the Lacie before using it with your MPC & before using it with your computer? Let me know the procedure. Thanks for your responses.

i have a 9 gb harddrive hooked and it works ok.
but you have to format it on the mpc ,and when you hook it up to your pc ya have to format it again.
the thing is ntfs/fat versus mpcformat so its not possible to tansfer samples with your hd even not when you have a scsi50pins connector on your computer.
you can only store on hd from mpc

peace!!!!

Does the reformatting erase all info on the Hard drive?
