I recently started to use this function on my 2000xl after reading the creating and editing programmes section of the mpc manual.
Basically I have a whole bunch of emu soundbank cd's that I wish to use with my mpc, they work fine. I am able to use the auto chromatic function.
But what I want to do is have a different sound on each track. E.G. Bass on one track percussion on another. When I lay a sound accross the keys on my keyboard a program is created. Which I thought was good, meaning I could do many auto chromatic assignments with different sounds and use each program created on a seperate track.
The problem is my mpc isn't letting me use a program on its own track.
If I am on track-01 and I change PGM to e.g. 2 and by DRUM1:OFF NewPgm-B shows then I move to track-02 to use another program and change PGM to 3 so the program on that track changes to NewPGM-C when I go back to track-01 the program changes to NewPGM-C there aswell.
All I am trying to do is use any program I create on any track I want. I want to build up a tune out of different programmes on different tracks but I cant seem to assign a particular program to a particular track. E.G. Track-01 .... PROGSTRING............ Track-02 PROGDRUM ... Track-03 PROGBSDD ......... all these programmes are suppose to be ones created while I was using the Auto Chromatic Assign function.
Ive been creating my tracks on protools and my mpc has just been sitting there. I have got them to sync perfectly and now want to use my mpc more. So I need to know how to get this program thing working.
Anyone?
