MESA and MPC2000

hi there, hope it's not a double post, i did a search about MESA and there were topics about s2000, not the mpc...so - the question - im buying mpc2000 and my dealer told me about mesa and said it is a way to edit samples on pc and then send them to mpc...i downloaded mesa manual from akai site...everything looks cool - except one small detail - no word about mpc2000 or any others...so where's the truth? guess my dealer wont tell me about this setup if it's not working, but i want to be sure....thanks for replying

To my knowledge you cant use Mesa with an MPC. Go to the link below on more information.

well ok, i wrote him an email, i'll see what his experiences are....but anyway - is there something like mesa suitable for mpc?

MPC was not a full sampler so Akai never addressed it that way.
The 4k with AK.SYS is the closest the went with an MPC in that direction.
The 1k and 2500 allow easier direct transfers than the older MPCs.
Most with the older MPC's use MPCeditor to create pgm files on their PC to load in the MPC.
Many XL owners just load the eidted wav into the MPC.

updated info from my dealer - he said that mpc2000 is using s2000's engine, so there should not be a problem, and he promised to test it... so what do you think?

Trim samples in another program on your PC (i.e. recycle, goldwave) then use MPCeditor.
or you could just trim with the mpc its fun!

I think your dealer is either up to some ultra secret version of MESA, or he is just talking bull.

ok, so looks like mesa is out of the game in my case...

anyway my point was not trimming or making programs but the SCSI comunication btwn pc and mpc - is there something like this? loading samples directly to mpc by SCSI?

You need to find a new dealer.
The same engine is not the same program structure.

If you aren't editing the samples on the PC or creating PGM's, then why are the samples on the PC to transfer to the MPC?

You should just f*** that dealer and go with a 1k or 2500.

The Maker: it aint that easy, im from czech republic, he's the only dealer in my country, i guess and he's not that bad really and im on a budget, im sceptic about 1000 and got no money for 2500..so that's how it is

Ok, but is it possible to direct connect a MPC 2000 with a computer, over scsi?

I would rather have nothing or pay to much to get it sent to me then to buy from someone who misinforms.
Just too much potential headache.
Get the gear that does what you need not the gear that's available or suggested by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.
The 1K is not a bad product.

That's just how I see it.
