Copying OS to zip disk

Is it possible to copy an OS to a zip disk that has already been formatted by your mpc and has mpc 2000xl files on it??????????? I want to know if I can copy the OS from the flash memory to an older disk that alreay has some files on it? I can't add the BIN file from the PC because the PC won't recognize the disk because it was formated by the MPC. If this is possible this would solve another problem that I am having with the MPC wanting a boot disk all the time since I have installed an internal zip drive. This way I could copy the OS bin file to all of my older disk and then it wouldn't matter which disk was in the mpc when it is tuned on cause it will boot. Right now I have to always have one particular disk with me.

Just download the OS ??.bin and save it on every disk.
