MPC Pads

What do you use to clean your MPC Pads?

whats the symptoms?

none...just making sure they don't die prematurely.

I use 90% rubbing alcohol. It usually does the trick.

I regularly use a damp cloth to wipe my MPC's. When the pads begin to show some dirtiness I use a VERY mild solution of dishwashing liquid to clean them. Afterward I wipe them clean with the plain water damp cloth. Don't use anything strong or your MPC will end up like this one whose owner used Windex:

From the MPC manuals:

"If water or any other liquid is spilled into or onto the MPC2000XL, disconnect the power, and call your dealer"

He will sell you another one,

"To avoid damage to internal circuitry, as well as the external finish, keep the MPC2000XL away from source of direct heat (stoves, radiators, etc.)"

The MPC is a hot box by itself.

"Do not use denatured alcohol, thinner, or similar chemicals to clean the MPC2000XL. They will damage the finish."

And don't use Windex. Does rubbing alcohol ruin the finish too?

"Avoid using aersol insecticides, etc. near the MPC4000."

How do you get the bugs out of it?

That MPC on ebay looks shitty...LOL...but if it plays...oh well.

That hardly qualifies for excellent.

Oh yeah on another note, it's worth mentioning that "mint" means `still new in the box`. Too many people abuse that tag.

Use a damp cloth with very little dishwashing liquid like MPC_Producer said.
I use to use very little alcohol mixed with water but I stopped. Still in good condition externally and internally.

I use my tongue.

And whats up with that MPC on Ebay that dude used Windex on to clean it??? Looks like its been to Iraq and back!!! Looks like it caught on fire!!! It just looks like HELL!!

Hardcore MPC addict.

I use some special (dry) tissue you normally buy to clean your computer screen with. This tissue does not produce any dust itself, so you can clean your dusted pads quickly and very easy.

Another thing you can do when you're not working on your MPC, is to take one of your 45's with sleeve and place it on the pads to prevent dust getting on the pads.

90% is way too much, you don't want them to become hard and brittle in the future due to the drying aftereffect of the alcohol. Be careful with that man.

I treat mine with rubber renew once a year or so. you can get it at sam ash f0r 5 bucks.
