Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Since the release of OS 2.0 for the Triton Studio, the internal hard drive can be hooked up in "target" mode so that it can be seen by a computer as a harddrive.

I was curious to see if the MPC could see it as well. I set the TS to target mode on SCSI-2 and loaded up the MPC and the MPC did see the HD but it could not read it or access it at all. I'm not sure if the TS hd, at 5 gigs is too big for it or what, or if maybe my 6 foot SCSI cable was too long but anyway, I wanted to know if anyone else had routed this successfully.

Thanks.

Depends on what format Korg made the drive visible as. Seeing from your test, I doubt it. Regardless, even if the MPC was able to mount it, would it be even be able to read the Korg format?

Sometimes I use a drive between the MPC and DPS. I can record with effects and the MPC42 into the DPS to the removable drive and load the sample into the MPC. Instant resampling. Both machine can share a ommon FAT16 file system.

Yup 3000, after thinking about it, that's exactly what I came up with. If I formatted the TS harddrive with the MPC, I think it would work but I'm not about to do that. Thanks for the input though, I agree with you.
