Can the MPC2000 classic read folders if I...

... format the zips with pc, using the FAT file system (of course with 8 characters or less)? Or do I still have to make partitions only?

IMO....none.If you format on the mpc you can make partitions which,to my knowledge can't be done under FAT.

I too was devasted when I first found out my lil' 2k couldn't read folders

Oh well, easy solution: just stock up on zip disks
