New MPC owner, hello

Hi there, new to forum, just copped a 2000 classic with 8 outs, never used an MP before so I'll have plenty questions, been usinh the ASR-X for some time now and prosucing in software for about 3 years

It's a hell of a machine & even more flexible with the 8 outs :)


There have been some very good deals on the 2K via ebay uk.
Seen one go for £155 this week!!!!

Thanx for the welcome, yeah this was ebayed actually, got it for £200 ($400ish?) which seems a very decent deal with the 8 outs, seller made the classic mistakes of listing it to end at 10:30am on a monday and specify collection in person only, well, his loss is my gain, anyone else here use an MP to sequence the ASR out of interest? I know im not gonna be able to do without the filters and FX on the X so I think the 2 are gonna have to learn to play together....

When I used to run my asr10 and my 2kxl together (I don't have 8 outs)
I would use mpc main out into my asr10 line in, and ASR10 main out to my audio interface into pc.

This way I could use my asr10 effects on my mpc audio, asr10 was slave/mixer sorta.

MPC was master/ asr10 was slave, every now and then I'd flip around the slave/master roles to see which I enjoyed more, I ended up not having a preference, either is fine with me.

The advantage to all that though was just to use asr10 effects on mpc audio, mpc actually had that asr10 sweetness when it came out the asr's main outs.
