I have really only used the step sequencing on my 2k, now im using a XL and when im in step sequencing mode (all notes) i cannot see the notes, i will spin the data wheel and hear hi-hatts and snare but no listing for the notes is this normal ?.

i was just trying to see at what time 2 kicks where at so i could reproduce them in the start of the sequence, im scared my XL is broken :x

Cheers

Learn your locate step buttons.

Turn Timing off then go back into step edit.

Whatever your timing is on the MAIN menu, that is the resolution you will see when step editing. If you hit a pad that is not in that timing resolution
it won't show up in step edit although you'll hear it when you pass it up while scrolling.

Your step edit is not broken, you are broken, lol.

Learn the quirks of your machine. Turn the timing off and scollr through in step edit.

Sorry about that Lamp,

It makes sense now cause i did the kicks at 32 hatts 8 and snare 16 and i would have been in 8 trying to shift the kicks.

Once again thanks for tolatraing my ignorance

If your timing is set at snare 16, you might not see the kicks when step editing. I step edit using the locate and step keys above the play buttons.

It will take you to your next hit no matter what resolution you have set.

I think pg 58 in the xl manual, I jsut told someone this like yesterday I think it was..

Good luck with that.
