First of all I just want to say whats up to all the MPC heads out there. I just started producing for month and a half now. I went right out and bought a Yamaha Motif and although learning can be difficult at times I have at least gotten a basic understanding of its modes, MIDI, basic recording, and production process (enought to make some tracks with Motif). Anyways, its seems that almost everyone who is serious about making hip-hop owns an MPC. Although I feel that the Motif sequencer is effecient, it appears that the MPC is known for it's ease of use and features especially when it comes to drum arrangements. The Motif sampler is powerful as well, but it is true that it can be rather difficult to work with.
Anyways, here is my main question. With the new MPC-1000 coming out, should I go ahead and go for that? It's seems that if I learn on the new model, then I wouldn't have the hang ups a MPC 2000XL user would have about the missing features. I hear that the 1000 is missing some features but like timestrech but I know that the Motif sampler will have those covered. It also seems easier to switch back and forth since both can read WAV. files. Well, if there is anything I should know, please fill me in. Once again, what's up everyone, and expect to hear more from me.
