Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have an MPC 2000xl and I use the floppy drive. My friend also has a 2000xl, but when I load a beat that takes 2 floppys it won't load the second disk. I have to write down the pads that I assigned sounds too. How can I fix this?

Maybe you are not saving correctly, save ALL and APS and it should load into your friends MPC just fine since it's the same model as yours.

Like Lamp said if you save ALL it should work. The only problem is when loading an ALL it will clear any programs that you have already loaded on the MPC. Meaning you can't load multiple ALL programs.

this happens to me, reload the pgm by hand and save it to a new set of disks.

This is when the mpc editor has saved my butt.

Load in your disk(floppy 1) with the program command. hit load program or all programs depending on how you have it saved. When the MPC has gotten all the sounds it can from this disk it will say can't find _ _ _ _. Now all you need to do is insert the next disk without pushing anything other than the floppy eject button. Insert (floppy 2) now all you have to do is hit load and whatever wasn't on the first disk will be loaded provided that all the sounds are on this disk as well.
