i use my mpc 2000 primarily for drum sounds and loop samples, however, it seems as though my mpc won't receive midi unless it's the first unit after my controller in the midi chain. i write primarily with sonar and a motif 7 and i have several different sound racks i use interchangeably. however, unless i midi out from the motif directly into the mpc first, the other racks don't receive midi from the mpc's midi out. also, if i place the mpc last, it doesn't seem to receive midi in from any of the racks. usually a thru will serve the purpose, but as you know the mpc 2000 has no thru. i'm somewhat knowledgeable re:midi, but for some reason, nothing i've tried hook-up wise seems to solve the problem. is there something i'm missing? obviously...
