mpc 2000 classic wont read ext. zip ?????

I've searched and searched and cant find data on this. I just got a classic and iomega 100 mb zip (external) I cant get the mpc to format the zip it wont show up at all. i tried using mpc editor to make a prgm still nada. my laptop with all my samples has no floppy. do you think its broke ( the mpc) i have 2 zip drives that work on pc but not on mpc. pleeeeeeease help!!!

no combo parallel/scsi drive.

i had similar problem, getting either disk read error on format or just didnt recognise the disk, presuming you have or are getting a usb zip drive for your computer, or access to a pc with an adaptec scsi card? then you need to format the disk with IOMEGA's zip TOOLS...but you need to access the disk via pc to use the tools? ie a usb zip drive would also let u move samples n progs between the laptop and the mpc zip drive......

to be honest i had it with zips now, and have gone for the Flash card memory drives, Atapi for the mpc and usb one for my pc!

i tried formating with zip tools (i have scsi on my laptop) laptop sees it mpc dont.. theres no switch on the back of this zip ie ch 5 or 6 etc. i still dont get it

then you are using a parallel version of the zipdrive
get a SCSI one

whats the diference?? the one i have fits ? diferent cable or diferent drive

its two 25 pin connectors and iomeg 100 zip i dont get it

The mpc does not work with parallel drives.

Just because it physically connects doesn't mean the 2 peices
of gear like each other.

It does have switch though? Set it to 5, put in a disk, then goto format in the disk window and scroll through the device menu till it reads it
