How to chop a sample using zones on the old mpc 2000

I have the old mpc2000 and I never figured out how to use the zones with samples or how to chop up sounds to that they play across the keyboard. And is there a way to copy a sample and use it more then once without having to resample the same sample again if you what to use it more then once...

the way I do it..is I take a sample....put it on a floppy then load it into my mpc(I have a 2k classic) and then i just cut whatever part of the sample....then since the sample is still in the floppy i load it again cut a diffrent from the sample assign it to a pad and just repeat this process until I feel I have enough chopped parts.....hope this helps you, cuz I ain't that good at workin with samples

yo man this is one of the easiest things to do

go into TRIM mode
hilight the sound you would like to edit
hit F3 (znEDIT)
select your start and end points (use PLAY X: to help you hear your chops)
once you have your points set, hit F5 (EDIT)
rename the sample if you would like and hit DO IT.
now repeat those steps until you are done.
then go into PROGRAM mode and assign those sounds to your pads.

using a sound on two different pads is as easy as assigning a sample to a pad. just find an empty pad and assign the sample to it.
