tracks/step edit question

yo.

i have a sequence, that has tracks of the kicks,snares,hats so on... i have another sequence with a variation of the melody used in the first sequence..

my question is, how would i add those tracks i used in sequence 1 to sequence 2.......so i dont have to bang the drums out again...

i know there is a way to do this, step edit or somthing?

select the track you want to move and press OPEN WINDOW. select COPY and then paste it into the second sequence.

ok i tried... i copy it, but i cant seem to copy it to the sequence i want..so i have more then one tracks on the same sequence.. thier doesnt seem to be a sequence selection part on the copy screen.

well i can tell you right now that you DONT want to try to copy and paste the whole sequence cos that will erase the data which you paste on top of.

you could use the SECOND SEQUENCE feature to play both sequences at the same time. pg 36 manual.

but i think pg 72 in the maual has your answer. i think you should copy the bars.

aight yea. thats what i was looking for, all i did was copy the bars over and delete the parts i didnt need, mad easy.

You could always go int your edit screen and when you see the word copy inthe left corner you can highlight the right side of the screen and move a sequence from one sequence to the next here.

how would i go about puting attack and decay to an entire sequence, im not taking about just a kick i mean an actual sequence..lol?

The only way to accomplish this would be to use an external processor, perhaps A PC or MAC . I'm not sure about the MFC-42 but someone else can step in on that piece.

i guess that was sort of a stupid question to begin with, even if the mpc could do that..it would be easier on a computer...

Yeah, you can't do the decay and filter on a whole sequence like that.
What you could do is record it into the computer, make a wav out of it, then back into the MPC and do the decay and filter on your loop sequence. Just a thought/workaround. peace. I've done it before that's why I said it. I've also midi'd up my triton as slave and recorded the pianos then used them as loops on the MPC just to see if it would actually matter and as a loop I was able to do some nice stuff with it. The decay and filter in which you talk about work well doing that right there..
