Loop points

I'm wondering about Loop points, sounds pretty cool for say sustaining a bass note for as long as I want. My question is can i set loop points onto a sound in a PC application of somesort and import it into my MPC so that it recognises the loop points?

If so which application would be able to do that for me? I ask because I usually edit my sounds with soundforge, put together a program with mpc editor and then its all ready to go in the MP

Yeah it is, but i find it quicker to do things on the PC, create my program and then bang out the beats on the MP...

I know its poss on the MP, just want to know if its poss in software

I think this is possible. What you need to do is get your loop points in soundforge. Save them as a Wave file. Make sure the save metadata ( soundforge 6.0) checkbox is ticked. This embeds the loop information into the wave file itself. I don't think the MPC can read the loop information from the wave file but it can from a .snd file.

So you need to get a copy of Awave and use the batch converter to convert your waves and embed the loop info into the snd files. I haven't tried this on the MPC but I've saved a file in Awave as a snd and then reopened it and the loop information was retained.
