sample zone editing

Yo,

I just started chopping up samples for my first time and ran into my first problem.

When zoneing samples, is it possible to slice out portions that I dont need? For example: Ive got zone 1, zone 2, and zone 3. I'd like to keep the full zone 2 and zone 3, but I only need a piece of zone 1, not the whole zone 1. Is it possible to trim zone 1, or do I have to edit each zone independently by trimming 3 of the same sample?

I guess my question is: how can I adjust the start and end points of one zone, without affecting the original start and end zone of adjacent zones? Is this possible?

If not possible, is there a method for chopping up samples in this manner that anyone could recommend?

I've read pg. 103 but it doesn't address this question. Let me know if Im missing something.

If you have read it, did you try it?

If you actually DID it you'd see what can be done. Why don't you try adjusting your points like the manual shows.

Good ole ZONE, SLICE, TRIM combined would be your best friend inside the mpc to get what you want done.

Me, I would use Sound Forge in this situation.

Yo I appreciate all the help people.

What I did was use the edit mode to delete unwanted sections of each zone. Thanks for pointing out that it was right in my friggin face. haha.

Just gotta dig in sometimes and combine features along with the imagination and also along with KNOWING what your machine is capable of ya dig..

Another thing, use the "open window" on everything you higlight also. That will open you up to new worlds of stuff.
