if you had to trade ur mpc 2000xl for another production tool of equal or lesser value, what would it be? a diff sampler? software?

man, i bought the mpc to stay away from software as much as possible. If i had to trade my mpc it would be for a new mpc 2kxl. or 2500 (if someone wanted to trade that).

Otherwise i would get an asr 10. But i would most definitly stay with hardware sequencing. :D

^^^ A 2500 is not equal or lesser value. Guess I'd have to go with the 1k, all the sequencing is still there.

The only one I would consider, and I'm probably going to get one to SUPPLEMENT my MPC is the Elektron machinedrum. This machine is very popular in Europe. It's absolutely sick. But, the sequencer only records mono, not poly(like the mpc does with a keyboard hooked up), and the sampler only records 2!! megs at 12 bit. But, I like it as much as the MPC's.
It's way more of a drum machine though. Comes with built in effects, and everything can be done(including save)while the sequencer is going.

Some people might say that it is. I did miss that part though. 1000 then for me.

i would probably get the s950 and the pads. Im selling my 2000xl mcd for that and just use software to sequence/edit.

I would trade for the MachineDrum. The one with the SP1200 sampling type architechture.
