MIDI Sync Acting Funny

Wassup,

Once i connected the MPC 2000XL to the Trtiton Extreme (midi out going from the mpc to the midi in of the triton). Once I had the connnection all set up i sent MIDI Clock Out of the mpc to the MIDI Clock In on the triton so when i press play on the MPC the triton will play also, the drums on my sequence got all switched up and got fuuked up and ****. It took me a while to figure out how to fix it...wat i need help on is how to fix prevent this from happening again.

you got the correct tracks selected on the mpc? What exactly do you mean by getting **** up? That can mean a bucncha shit.

Yezzir!! this might b a lil late, but I have had this problem.,.,I use an 88key st-triton and I've had the problem where the sound I used from the triton and seq.'d on my mp, the sound on the triton sometimes changes....is this your problem as well? I never really found a way around this, but the best thing I can say is just to write down the instrument you use off the triton...cuz u should definitely keep trak of all ya stuff an b sorta like a neat freak wit it...it will help in the long run.,.,.

Make sure that the MPC is not receiving Sysex messages from the triton and resending them back out to the triton making the triton act funny. Use the Midi input filter to disable Sysex reception. (Hint: in the manua)l The same applies for program changes and control changes..

Also make sure local is set to off on the triton if you are using the MPC as the master sequencer. (I presume this is explained in the Triton manual.

I also had this SSAAAAMMMEEE PROB.! It would like play a completely different sound then I wanted...Hopefully it is a way around this...I hope it doesn't screw up my midi keyboard...

disable sysex recept in the triton? thats in the manual? cause like sometimes I wanna combine sounds and it gets all messed up cuz of the midi settings.,.,if u know a way around this, i will mail you an autographed pic of me and my production team!!!
