Chop Problem

Okay so i got a 8 bar loop and it loops perfectly. Lets say its 98 bmp then i chop it into 16 pieces. When i lay em down at 98 bmp in 1\8 tempo, they dont sound realy good, choppy like. Is this because of the sample i am using or is it just not something im suposed to do ?

obviously if the bpm of the sample is higher than 98, when u sequence your slices, there will be gaps between one sample and the other.
u can try these tricks:

1- timestretch the loop to fit the seq tempo before chopping
or
2- fill the gaps with a slice that can do the job (hi hats maybe?) or other sounds and be sure the single slices have a right decay (smooth em out if they are clicky)


p.s.: always remember: try to chop ur samples at zero crossing, if u hit OPEN WINDOW on the start or end parameter in the zone window, u can zoom in to find a good silence point to chop.

try recording on 1/16 man. also, if you can hear a little silence, speed up the tempo a little at a time until the silence dissapears.

the decaqy setting will be on 5 by default, ramp that up, and when you do slice the sounds the mpc will also offer to add 30ms to clean up and shit at the end, if u want it seemless, then put that back down to 0ms also.

Yeah, you gotta' edit the slices to start and stop so they don't sound so "choppy like."
