mpc 2000xl and zip

when i try to save something on my zip it keeps saying scsi not ready. what could be the problem.

Make sure,that you use the correct Zip drive ID (you have to choose it from the list in the save mode).
Can you read any data from the previously formatted Zip drive ??
Maybe the Termination switch on the back of the Zip drive is the problem??
check it

Try both settings of the Termination switch at the back and of course you have to format the Zip disk before saving anything Did you do that ??
