Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a PC, MPC 2000xl, and a soundblaster soundcard with midi in/outs. Can I use my computer to to record and edit samples, and then trigger those to my MPC? What is the best way to use my computer to record & edit then using the MPC to sequence? Holla! Payce

get yourself some zip drives(internal for mpc and usb or parallel for pc).....then go cop yourself that MPC editor to make programs and Soundforge or cool edit and that way you can edit samples on your pc and transfer 'em to the mpc for sequencing via zip disk.....or...are you trying to actually control your mpc via the midi ports on the sb card or vice versa? be a bit more specific in ehat exactly you're trying to accomplish with your mpc and pc....you can use your computer to record samples but it may be a bit more cumbersome...I use it to snatch shit off of cd's and realplayer broadcasts, but i use a minidisk to sample fromother non vinyl sources and a tape recorder to snatch from vinyl.....

I just to see if I can record my samples on Cool Edit, save em, then somehow send them to my MPC via MIDI then assign those samples to pads and sequence from their. I have an Audigy Two Soundblaster card with MIDI outs. Holla

you cant do that(midi dumping), just record them on the pc and then transport to zip.......and no, the mpc doesnt support scsi transfers either......

"Triggering MPC 2000XL with Computer?"

This can be done, but you are wasting about 2/3 of the MPC. You sound like you might better of buying an old S2000 for $200 which supports SCSI transfers.
