Setting diffrent swing for different tracks????

Hello All

This is my 1st post here so if i make any mistakes or dont use correct terminology bare with me LOL.

My quest for "RHYTHMATICAL TIGHTNESS" it ended with me buying MPC 2000 XL and what a purchase it was.

Everything is solid and i dont miss a beat, i make Deep Soulful House Music so my pursuit is for skippy/slidy drums. Been using Logic 7 for past couple of years but the lack tightness within it has really let me down.

I used Logic with MPC grooove templates but as we all know "if it aint tight it aint gonna bite" my drums were also layed out on seperate tracks so i was able to swing all the different elements seperately, i usually lay down kick, 2nd and 4th snare Stright everthing else is done losely to get my feel then i'll swing hats off snares and whatever else to get it tighter.

I've been using the MPC for a couple of days now and have been using it in loop mode just to a little grasp of the step sequencer, i've noticed when i try to swing different tracks they all get swung on the same setting so if i swing my hats say 58% when i goto another track with my off snares on it they also swung 58% everything swings universally which i dont want.

I have extensively searched this forum and only came up with this post

but the question to me was either not answered or explained properly i hope that someone could maybe explain it abit better if i'm wrong.

Dont really wanna swing all drums together (for now) just need to swing the seperate tracks, aside from my gripe i'm totally happy with the MPC its my missing link just need to start getting inside it deeply.

been following it to the and still same thing i'm hoping u could give me step by step as its holding me back right aint got nothing done all day followed all posts in the link still confused i share the same confusion with the original poster done it to a T and nothing need help asap!!!!!

also using version 1.12 OS dont no if thats got anything to do with it ? boy something so simple still cant get it. (have to laugh as i'm mr technical)

Very frustrating followed the posts in link "change swing settings before i lay next track" and still same thing the timing menus for all tracks show the same swings even same pad number i selected.

Completely baffled hope someone could shed some light as im going off my trolley i'm a beat who now cant put his beats together, HELP!!!!!

Managed to sort it out only just realised when u swing it only effects the selected track, but i was getting confused when going back to previous track and seeing the same swing settings in the timing menu.

I think i theory the timing menu should change with the track so u can see the diferent swing and amount settings for each track, well i think thats what it is correct me if i'm wrong.

dont trip man. the screen will display the last settings you used for any track. so if you just swung your hihats and go to swing your snare, the same settings will be displayed but will not affect your snare. it will only affect your snare if you hit the pad the snare is on and press do it.

dont worry if you see the same settings up there. is that what you mean or are you actually hearing the swing on ALL your drums?
