Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Im getting a "FAT Error" everytime i try to save "all sequences and songs"

You need to give more info , such as what are you saving to(floppy, zip, etc). And where did you format the media (mpc, pc ,mac, sega, etc.). Holla back so we can help.

Format the zip disk?it was brand new when i got it,,i dont really understand the question

U should format it BEFORE you attempt use it. No format is like a car with no tires, can't really go rollin with your boys if you aint got no tires now can you?

Brand new, like, you opened it and threw it in the drive to read/write/save or what? That's what 3K is getting at, is it formatted, if not then format it, if so then what machine did you format it on?

Thats exactly waht i did,openend it and throw it in the zip drive without formating it

Thanks alot,i always thought formating is just if you want to remove all files on the zip

Formatting is simply getting it "ready" to be used.
Like a house with no furniture and no plumbing, it's
there but not ready to be lived in just yet, ya dig? Cool..

I would recomend reloading the opperating system. If you dont have the latest version, you can get this from the AKAI web site. The latest version is nothing more than a revised, so called "bug free version"

Hopefully its just a software glitch. You could also look into getting your mpc serviced. Where are you located, northern europe? Im shure there is an AKAI authorized service center around there.
