Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi there. I've been composing music on the MPC for the past few weeks, feeling pretty good about it, etc.. I've been working on tunes in individual programs, always "drum 1," and just loading up the different ones when I want. Now, I want to utilize the MPC's ability to contain 4 programs at once, for live performance. I've got 4 programs that will fit in the memory all at once, but they're all saved as "drum 1" (or at least when I load them up one after another, they each overwrite each other in the "drum 1" assignment), and I can't figure how to change the drum setting in the PROGRAM mode. I'm assuming this is the best thing to do, to have 4 different programs available at once. Also, I'd like to avoid at all costs having to recreate 3 of the programs, saving each one with different "drum" settings, to solve this problem. How do I go about changing the drum parameter, so I can load up and contain all 4 programs? Any other way to do this? What am I missing? Thanks in advance,

Ben

HI ben.
First: make sure if you have different sounds for each pgm, that two different sounds don't have the same name and name the programms too, it helps.
Then, when you load the pgms, never use the "clear" but the "load" option.
Go into the pgm menu. For each drum pgm (1,2,3,4), select the upper field (I believe it's called "pgm") and choose the pgm you want assigned by turnin that round knob (I can't remember what's its propper name but y'know whut i'm ta'in 'bout.)
Hope you got me.
good luck

Simple , save all pgms and sounds. Before you do that to name each program go into your program screen hit drum whatever the drum. On this screen you will see drum 1 and beneath to the right the program name. open window ther and name the program whatever. go back up to the the program where the 1 is and change it to 2 go down and repea the process then save all pgms and sounds.
