Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

If I add an external scsi harddrive and card reader combo to my 2000, will I still need to use a floppy disk to boot up the unit? Or can the OS be stored on the harddrive or a memory card? I seen on the midicase.com website that the author rackmounted his 2Kxl and does not access the floppy drive because he has a cd-rom, HD and card reader but did not state if this is where he booted from.

If your scsi devices are connected correctly and the mpc recognizes them then yes u could save your OS on the hard drive and the mpc would boot from there. Cause what happens is the mpc looks for the OS in the floppy disk if NO disk is inserted then it looks for SCSI devices. If your SCSI device is connected then it will read that the OS is there and its a wrap.
