Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By MisterK Fri Sep 15, 2006 12:25 pm
I know..I know..I've already read other topics..It's a real SHIT.
Yesterday I've installaed a PCD-47 , and all was Ok with vers. 1.14. Later I tried to update the OS to 1.20 , and my lovlely MPC2000Xl gave me the error after reboot.
, I'm producing my beats and I've to finish my works..
Please, give a great recovery procedure, the instruction for a cold boot, tell me something to make on line my MPC.
But , if I put the OS file on the card reader, why MPC doesn't boot?
I've to set the SCSI ID to zero?
Help me, it's important.

Another case of a corrupted boot ROM.

The reason your MPC2000XL isn't able to boot from the SCSI device is because it was never told to and in it's brain dead state the box is still looking for or rather falling back to the floppy drive.

Pull out the PCD-47B. Re-connect the floppy. Stick a floppy into the drive containing the OS.BIN file. Let the machine boot. Re-perform the flash process. Remove the floppy. Put the PCD-47B back into the machine.

All should be good.

If this doesn't work then PM me as you may need a recovery chip fitted in order to clean flash the whole OS flash area.

Rohan.

Roan,
It works.
I've had to use the floppy to perform tha flash job again, and then reconnect the CardReader.
With 1.14 my 2KXL works perfect! :P
Thanks a lot.[/url]

Glad my bush mechanic fix up trick worked OK for your.

Saves having to the route of the total recovery chip method.

Now ... make beats.

I think I get the situation that I need a recovery chip? What 's the recovery chip?I never heard abou it

Rohan is still around but sadly not on any music forums anymore. He's mostly on Australian Land Rover forums.

Apparently he's aided in a new Vimana build for this filter kit that Jazzcat may still be working on for the 60.

man. I really can't believe he just dipped out like that. I saw his posts and he really did look like a decent dude helping people out. Tossed that cuz over pirated chips? I mean , I'd be mad too but not at the whole community I've been tied to for years. I'm new af to these forums so i don't really have that knowledge, just been reading a lot and concluded that stunt was kinda shitty of him. Easy to say with hindsight but it's still funny seeing all those ppl rush to defend him "nah hes a good dude hes coming back" . Just goes to show even the best of us are susceptible to switchin up

It only takes one slipped up to mess up. I'm not sure what happened, but Rule 1: All treat your clients with the highest level of integrity.

On the flip side... we're all only human after all... and sometimes being the bigger person to say "it's cool, I'll let it go" can go a long way to bringing somebody back into the fold...

Weren't you the one showing off that low pass filter mod for the mpc 60 on facebook?

Am I mistaken or did I not see a picture and words in the comments about a build above 3.15 which was said to have some sort of parameters for automating the filter through the graphical interface?

Jazzcat, any way you could write and updated Window 10 driver for the MPC 4000? If not you could you direct to a person who could?
