Im finally coppin my first peice an mpc 2000xl i bought off ebay today...i never worked with real equipment before so ima be on here from now on lookin for help with this...my first question should i buy a scsi cd drive and zip drive? as far as i know i need a cd drive to load samples, zip drive to save beats, right? as far i see theres only one scsi connection on the mpc, so im thinkin if i get both im only gonna be using one at time is this correct? Also what about speakers for sound output?

I got my mpc 2kxl with the Zip and just have been running it off my home stereo, as long as your used to your own sound than there's no need to worry.

if you get both you'll be able to use them both w/o having to disconnect things all the time. the mpc only has one scsi connection but every drive has two so you can chain them together.

you dont HAVE to have a zip drive. they're suggested though.

not certain about what your intentions are for a cd drive. you'll want/need one if you plan on using cd-roms. you wont be able to sample from a scsi cd rom though

CD rom for loading, ZIP for loading and saving. You WILL need RAM.

Congrats on a good purchase.
