programme change problem

I finished working on this song and everything was fine and then I pressed play to listen again and I couldnt hear anything. I was baffled so I pressed some drum pads and still couldnt hear anything. Then I noticed in the main screen that if I select the tracks which the sounds are recorded on and change the drum programme field from 1 to 2 I can hear them again.
I have no idea why this has happened. Its like the programme has automatically changed from 1 to 2. I dont particularly want to have to go through every track and switch them all over to drum2 to be able to hear my song again.
It has happened before but I just reloaded the whole song again from my hard drive last time. This time however I did not save all the new work before the problem occurred so I cant do that again.
Im using a virus indigo 2 synth as a slave so I dont know whether that has anything to do with it. Does anyone have any idea why this has occurred and how to rectify the problem? [/i]

The reason it happend is because you changed programs on your keyboard while the mpc was set to drum and not midi...

Thanks guys. It was a pain but I went through every track in every sequence and changed them to 2 and its ok now. I need to figure out how I did this programme change on my synth though, then perhaps I can reverse it if it happens again. I have disabled 'programme change' on the synth, will that help?

No its not ok . I can now hear the song when i play back but I can only hear the pads when I hit them if I dial to the track that its recorded on.
Does anyone get wahts going on here and how I just return it to normal.

I think Jacpot is right about the Virus sending program changes to the MPC.
Did you change the program on the Main screen or from the Step editor? If there is a program change in the sequence it will override the program change on the Main screen.

You can stop the MPC receiving program changes by using the Midi input filter to block incoming program change messages.
