Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok this has happened twice to me now. I will have a drum kit loaded up from a disk and ill lay something down. Then i will go to my keys and try to figure up a bassline while the drum pattern is playing on my mp. Then all of the sudden my drum kit program is gone, no more drum pattern, the whole drum program is gone. Just yesterday i was doing this same thing and all of the sudden the mp switched to some chops that i did earlier and was playing the chops in the same pattern as the drum pattern i laid down. I looked for my drums but they were no where to be found. what the hell is going on with this?

Oh yea by the way its a 2kxl and a yamaha psr-gx76 midi'd together.

sounds like the Mpc has recieved a PGM change and switch'd your drums from DRUM1 > DRUM2, try changing it back in the params screen.

yes ..... if you are changing programs on your keyboard & have the keyboard's midi out to MPC's midi in you are probably sending program change messages. If you haven't saved the previous program you were working with that explains why you might be losing it.
