i just got my Xl, ok where do I start?

whats up mpc family. i just purchased my mpc2000xl. ok, with this i was able to getnwith it: a handful of floppy disks with samples, some cds with samples, and a zip drive. i know the basics on using this machine and i just figured out how to sample a record and chopping it up using ZONES. Now, my question is how to i assign them to pads? i press a pad and it plays the entire snippet on every pad in everybank. now after that, how do i save them to my zip drive? im sure many of u have this same setup (mpc w/ zip) so i know its not uncommon. if anybody out there can give me some tips on how to get this done i would appreciate it. thanks fam. peace. First off, everyones going to flame you very soon for and tell you read the manual. So thats what i advise because everything you asked and a ton more are in it. You can get a free copy from the akai website and if you need further instruction on the features of the 2000XL check out the ebook on www.mpc-samples.com and you can buy a really good ebay on the 2KXL.

So far, what you've asked is quite simple.

Got to page 103(hold shift, press trim) then 108(edit mode) for sampling.

Hold shift, press save, save where you want(basic).

"...ok where do I start?"
