Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Help pleeease!!
I am trying to save my old snd and wav from ext zip100 to the mpc2000xl, then transfer to compact flash internal drive (wicked little mod if anyone is interested).
I have got termination ON and the MPC reads SCSI5, but when I try to load a sound, or save a sound from the compact flash to the SCSI5 zip (thought I would try going backwards to test), I get DISK WRITE ERROR!! on the MPC. Are the disks themseves the problem? Have I lost all those sounds? Any assistance appreciated, then I can keep the history of my sample library alive so they can pass on the stories of old to the new samples .. ??
I also have to give the zip drive back oneday as it is not mine. I would be very surprised if it was the drive as the owner is a pretty clever bloke,,

It's not because the owner is a clever bloke, that his zipdrive will be flawless. Does this happen to all your zip disks?

Thanks for the reply...

I tried 5 different zips and same problem with all. The disks are all in MPC format and wont work on a pc drive if that makes a difference, they worked fine in the old zip100 drive before I put the CF in..the CF works fine too..
Thanks again for the reply.

Could you try to put your old zip100 in the mpc and try to read the disk from that one and save to a new disk you format on the external one. That way you make copies you can read fromthe external zip. Then reinstall your cf reader and transfer the data from the external zip and then transfer them to your cf reader.

Thanks for that..labour intensive but should be easy if I get the guy who put the CF drive in to do it. I didnt try to put it through scsi 6 on the external zip, trhat wouldnt make a differnece would it.
Will try to fix and save the old sounds as per advice.
then I can come up with other issues for this page to whinge about!
