mpc only for hip-hop?

i often read on this forum that MPC(any kind of mpc) is for Hip Hop music...I can't believe that...You can make any kind of music you wish with the MPC, and it's his first quality for me...What do you think about that??????

mpc isnt just for hip hop. i think what youve been reading is the mpc is the prefered toy for hip hop producers. but u could definitly do any music for sure

Hip Hop is the easiest genre to produce on the MPC. You can produce other genres, but they are more complex than Hip Hop. You must have other gear for them. I produce mainly trance, techno, and house. It isn't realistic to think this can be done using only samples like with Hip Hop. It requires at least one synth or groovebox for arpeggiated tracks.

i try and cut some jungle tracks and they sound pretty nice.... im not a big synth guy i like to keep my jungle with a hip-hop flavor... sounds nice but kinda jumbled??? i dunno if its just all the noise or what but yea you can make anything if you got the time for it... what else are you tryin to make?

Actually, the mpc can do it all. Hip hop is mainly sample based music, and therefore, the easiest to produce with the mpc. It seems like most people just take loops and samples off of tracks or records, and just throw it all together. You could also compile individual samples, and produce from scratch. I actually make alot more dance music on the mpc than hip hop. I find myself making hip hop tracks, when I want a quick fix.

Nah main, anything can be made on the MPC, hip hop, house, trance, techno, pop, r & b, reggae, etc...any and all music genres, you name it, it does it ...peace

A friend of mine uses his MPC to produce TRANCE

My friends use the MPC to produce illbient and John Cage-style minimalist compositions. Of course, they're idiots, so...

Once I learned the rudiments of the MPC, and relistened to a handful of electronic cds (some IDM, some hip hop, etc.), I felt like I could see very clearly how the tracks were made, or how I would make them, if I had made them. Like Rjd2's album. Come on! How simple....

I was working on a blues track with the mpc a while back. Sounded good so far, I should finish it up.

Being that the mpc is a sampler you can really make almost anything if youve got the right samples. Im going to start making polka and swing next, Fk hip hop, its too cliche'
