Can samples be plaid with external controllers

I've got the drumpads on the MP to play notes from soft synth cool.

But now what I'm trying to do is play samples loaded in the MPC with my Midi controller, plugged in via Midi In 1.

Is this possible?

Looking through the manual i read this which doesnt really answer my question:

"MIDI Allows data input from devices such as MIDI keyboards and uses the
track to play the sound source of external MIDI devices."

"Drum 1 – 4 Allows data input from DRUMS PAD and uses the track to play the internal
sound source.
Because programs can be assigned individually to DRUM 1-4, the tracks
can be assigned to different drum programs and up to 4 different programs
can be played at the same time."

I leave the MP on drum and trigger the sounds that way...... well if i choose to trigger it that way..... But why would you want to do that when you can touch those sexy a$$ pads on the MPC?

my midi keyboard doesnt have sounds on it, its just a controller...

I got the tutors multisamples and its hard to work out how to play on the pads. i want to play the multisamples on the keyboard.

So midi out of midi keyboard to midi in 1 of MPC.

then on the MPC "DRUM: 1A-Deivce01"

works when i hit the pads, not when i hit the keys

what midi channel is your controller on what notes are your samples assigned to in the MPC?

Midi controller is plugged into Midi in 1.

the program i load has every pad of the MPC assigned to a note...

Starting to think there might be something wrong with my midi controller...

Got it to work now... I had to disable the USB on my midi controller which enabled the midi out...

im usign a midi controlor keyboard (no sound of its own-just to rock sounds in the mpc 20000xxl) to play pitched instrumetns (usually samples put on auto chromatic arrangement). problem is, it keeps skipping back to palying whatevers in drum 1. if i go to program screen and select a different one (drum 2,3 or 4) it will play that, but as soon as i hit main scren the keyboard switches back to playing whateers in drum 1 (even if the track im recording/playing iin is set to drum 2, say (and the Mpc pads are obviously play drum2). the keyboard is plugeed into midi in. any ideas? peace al
