The Illest Drum

I 've had my 2KXL for about 2 years but I never really got into it, honestly it was sitting in the corner of the studio getting dusty while I was playing with stuff like reason, fruity loops etc. but I recently decided to re-read the MPC manual and started messing around with it. Man I can't explain it but I'm coming up with the Illest drum tracks I've ever made...I use to believe I could produce with anything available and I still do [to a great extent] but something about This MPC is different than any other equipment i've used . It's like you can play this thang like an instrument and Im starting to believe you can't do that on a computer...anyway just a thought for the forum...peeeaaace

It's always good to read thoughts like that Especially when someone comes from the software side to the real drum machine hardware.
Of course you can emulate the mpc connecting midi controler like Trigger Finger m-audio or even mpd akai pads to a software like NI battery or Ableton's Impulse,but...in my opinion you will never achieve 'that' feeling and enjoy this setup as much as the real thing like 2000xl or any other model!

Damn man...that's what I always feel with my mpc...Love it to death.

I've been a Reason user for about 3 years now, and after awhile I got sick to death of programming my beats with a mouse or my controller keyboard. I missed using an actual drum machine like I did in the old days. I never owned an MPC before, but I held out for as long as I could because of the price and such. I decided to give the Trigger Finger a try with Reason first. It helped, but it just isn't the same as real hardware.

Configuring it to control the different Redrum channels was way more work than M-Audio made it out to be, IMO, even using the Enigma software.

About a month after getting the Trigger Finger, I took the plunge and got a 2000XL MCD. The Trigger Finger is soon about to be boxed back up! I'm confident I made the right choice.

i had that exact thought when i first touched mine.
