Techs!!!MPC 2000 Heaphone Jack Intermittent Issue.....

This is a question for those that know the internal circuitry of the mpc 2000. My headphone jack is intermittent(which means the audio is not coming through without me wiggling the wire into place). So i took it apart and I am now looking at the circuit board with the headphone jack box on it. After messing with it for 3 hours I cannot figure out how to open the little black case the jack is contained in on the board, and if anyone knows how to open it please tell me how exactly and also what piece of the circuit I must solder or fix. I need to know how to perform fixes on my machines, any help is welcomed!

You can't really open that little black box as you describe it since the black box is basically the conector. You will need to replace it completely. Did you make sure that the problem is related to the connector and not your headphones?

Yeah my headphones are working great on my other pieces of equipment, I just thought I might be able to fiddle with the wires in the box and fix the problem. So there is no way to fix the wires, I have to replace the box connector completely?? I thought it would be an easy fix but I guess I was wrong....
