sampling question

you know when u are trimming a sample and you have those lines moving to tell where the sample is goin to begin and end how do u get rid of the sound outside of those 2 lines. another question how do u go about saving a track.

The sound outside the two lines wont play unless you press PLAY X:ALL, otherwise the only sound that is played is the sound thats between the lines, thats why its called TRIM..... Shift + Enter, SAVE ALL SEQUENCES & SONGS will save your tracks that you have in your sequences and dont forget to also save ALL PROGRAMS & SOUNDS...peace

I would do one of two things. I would either hit timestretch or I would highlight the parts I don't want one end at a time and and under edit I would jog over to delete section.

i also have the same problem trying to hear whats in between the lines on the trim page. the only options are to: play all, play before, play after, and before to, and zone. i looked at p. 104. do you have to delete what's before and after the trim points before you can hear it? this has been **** me up for a minute.

the 60 has more option on the trim screen. no waveform editing though :(

I am not sure about that. The look the same to me and the 60 does not have the loop point settings of the later MPC's.

No looping for sure, but it has,

Play:
All,
Zone
Temp
before zone
after zone
before soft start
after soft end

all with soft button 3. I would be surprised i the 2k doesn't have this.

It does as far as the playback is concerned, just slightly different wording. The problem that most ru into is that the setting are not for all visual editing screens.

Ah, now it makes sense. With visual it would be less critical to have these features.

You can hear whatever you want in that screen, before, after and what is highlighted. When you go back to the pads though you will only hear what is highlighted. You do not HAVE to trim the ends off before you are able to hear the sound, you can always hear it in the pads but it will be ONLY what you had highlighted.
