I'm a MPC vet but this one has got me by the balls...
On the MPC 2000XL recorded a sequence 96 bars long, about 15 tracks. If I go to "track Copy" and try to copy say track 15 to track 16 I get "insufficient memory" error. This also happens if I try to copy a 4 bar loop to fill the 96 bars. Or any other time Im trying to paste 80 or 90 bars of a loop through the events editor or bar editor. The sequence memory has 2256K free and the sequence is only 146k in file size.
I've rebooted and loaded only that sequence and that doesn't help. Got full ram at 32mb. In the past I've been so high that I've accidently created 999 bar sequences and I've gotten this error when I did that. And I've created long sequences before. I know the MPC has a ceiling but I doubt that I reached it. (Even 96 bars of 15 tracks of constant 16th notes does not top off the 50,000 note limit on a sequence) Is this some shit thats just a bug? Does the MPC not have enough memory to process the copy operation? Sometimes I can get around it by copying 16 bars at a time until I get 96 but thats not really practical.
And I have NO PROBLEM duplicating an entire sequence.
Any one else have this problem? Would an MPC 4000 or 2500 help this? Doing long sequences on the mpc2000 is a pain in general, is the 4000 or 2500 better? I can't live wit out the MPC swing!!!!!
And I was reading the manual for the 2000XL am I wrong or is there no doc on the CHANGE BAR feature?
