A row of pads died on my 2000 Classic

The second row of pads on my 2000 classic stopped working properly today. they trigger sounds but only if you jam the pad in a weird way, hitting it normally doesn't work. I opened it up and it looks like there's an air bubble in or under the sensor sheet on pad 10, and it makes a weird sound when i push on it. Is there any way of fixing this? The sensor sheet still works but i think the air bubble is **** up that row. Any advice? I'll try to post a pic soon.

Do you have the velocity switched on, where it wont play unless you hit it at a certain velocity? Some shit happened to me last night.

Hmm I don't think so. I've tried it will full level on and same story. I loaded some beats and noticed it when I tried to play A02. The sensor sheet is like unstuck from the metal plate under it in the pad 10 spot.

I put it back together and it's working normally now. That air bubble is still a little unsettling though.

Yeah, but maybe if you hit it hard enough itll make a queef sound!

Its actually not the pads but the pad sensor sheet that you would be paying 89 bucks for.

If I smush down hard on pad 10 it makes the rest of them in that row(or I should say column) work but then they stop working after a while until I smush down pad 10 again. the sensor just seems to be unstuck in that spot with an air bubble. What could I use to stick it back down? If I peel off the sensor sheet to get to the bubble spot will I be able to stick it back down?

I don't think peeling and re-applying it will do any good because I found out each little black sensor square is like a sandwich with air in the middle, the only way that bubble could have gotten there is if the air escaped from that sensor. I noticed the sound(of the glue sticking and unsticking) when I first got the MPC but I guess after some time of banging on that pad it pushed the air out more and more and eventually the glue around that spot dried, leaving the sensor airless/dead.

Hi, I have the exact same problem with my MPC2000 as Fung45 (i have an airbubble under the sheet in two spots, 10 pads dead).

I have already ordered a new Akai pad sheet from a local store, but still i'm interested in all there is to know about how this problem gets caused (condensation?), how to prevent it, and if it's possible to fix it without replacing the sheet by a new one.
Any experience anyone had with this is welcome..

Fung45, have you already tried peeling of your sheet and sticking it back on?
I have considered peeling it of myself too, but the sheet really really STICKS to the mpc. I feel like if i force pulling it of, the sheet will be wrecked anyway. Or at least not in a state to get it back on the way it was.
Is there a "right" way to get it off easily, and if you have to glue it back on, is there a type of glue you shouldn't use (that might damage things permanently).

Now, when i get the new pad sheet i ordered, i'm going to have to peel the old one off anyway. But until i have the new sheet in my hands, i don't want to risk wrecking the whole thing.
Normally Akai parts come with a manual, specificially for the installation of that part, is there an online repository of these Akai "nstallation" manuals (already googled) or could someone post their's (for replacing a pad sheet)?
Should definitely contain valuable information.

In the coming years more classic mpcs (60,3000,2000..) will break down, so it would be cool to get a centralized DIY repair guide online going.
