Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I got my the midi cables all set but i don't hear the sounds from the ASR playing with the MPC

Where are the audio cables from the asr plugged into?

the cables are pluged in midi out from the MP to midi in the ASR and vice versa

You didnt connect the audio cables. THats why you cant hear something. Midi is only for 'data' (communication between audio devices). Look http://www.borg.com/~jglatt/tutr/miditutr.htm for more information on midi.

MPC "audio" out and asr "audio" out need to go to a mixer and/or audio interface.

Midi is data, you don't hear it.
